Hello and welcome! I am Naomi Carrasco, MA, LMHCA.
I bring experience working with individuals and families in various settings, including small non-profit organizations, very large non-profit organizations, and state funded programs. My education, training, and experience has led me to work with youth and families across socioeconomic backgrounds, encompassing many concerns and presenting problems, and with varying levels of individual and family trauma. I have special interest in working with high-risk adolescents and families in crisis, as well as walking alongside those struggling with anxiety, depression, Bi-Polar disorder, and issues related to spirituality. As well, I have experience working with youth and families affected by involvement with child protective services and the foster care system and understand the various and unique challenges involved.
I earned my Master of Arts degree in Family Psychology from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas. As an individual, my faith and beliefs are an integrated part of who I am and carry over into all the work I do. I believe your relationship with your therapist is an extremely important aspect of success in therapy, and the therapeutic relationship requires compassion and a non-judgmental approach to the work we do together. As a result, I strive to work from a client-centered perspective and do my best to build a trusting and supportive relationship. I will work with you to develop a treatment plan designed to address your specific concerns and goals. I work from a family systems perspective and most often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy while integrating aspects of various therapeutic modalities in order to meet your short-term and long-term goals.
If you are considering beginning therapy, I encourage you to do so. Whether you are struggling with an anxious mind, depressed mood, low self-esteem or a problem in one of your relationships, please feel free to schedule an appointment. I look forward to meeting with you.
